OVERVIEW
Eastbourne General Hospital's new Elective Care Hub represents a significant investment in improving patient access to day surgery across Sussex. Working inconjunction with IHP, Medspace Solutions played a critical role in this project by manufacturing and installing high-quality, fitted furniture and equipment, contributing to the hub's functionality, efficiency, and patient-centered environment.
The £22.5 million Elective Care Hub was designed to provide a modern, purpose-built day surgery unit, featuring pre-assessment areas, four operating theatres, and dedicated admission, recovery, and discharge spaces. The hub aims to increase day surgery capacity, reduce waiting times, and enhance the overall patient experience. This project, a partnership between East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, NHS Sussex, and NHS England, is a testament to the commitment to improving elective care services.
Medspace Solutions was entrusted with the manufacturing and installation of a wide range of essential fitted furniture and equipment. This included:
While the project adhered to standard healthcare constraints, such as tight deadlines and stringent hygiene requirements, Medspace Solutions faced a specific technical challenge: creating seamless joints in the curved reception desks. Through meticulous planning and expert craftsmanship, the team successfully delivered a flawless finish, showcasing their technical expertise.
Medspace Solutions' contributions directly supported the Elective Care Hub's goals:
Hospital leadership expressed their satisfaction with the project. Steve Phoenix, Chairman of East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust, and Joe Chadwick-Bell, Chief Executive, highlighted the hub's importance in improving patient care and enhancing staff facilities.
Medspace Solutions' expertise in manufacturing and installing fitted furniture and equipment played a vital role in the successful completion of the Elective Care Hub at Eastbourne General Hospital.
Our commitment to quality, functionality, and hygiene contributed to a modern, efficient, and patient-centered environment, ultimately enhancing elective care services for the Sussex community.
