OVERVIEW

ITP makes two key contributions to major dockside development.

ITP have made two key contributions to Royal Eden Docks, a prestigious mixed-use development in London from Mount Anvil Homes. Situated near ExCeL London, east of Canary Wharf, the 854-home complex comprises studios and one, two and three bedroom apartments alongside flexible workspaces.

ITP’s FlameOUT® Block Standard vapour control membrane has been extensively specified throughout the development and two versions of our Powerclad scaffold sheeting – Vented and Standard FR flame retardant – have been installed to provide site security and containment. We supplied Powerclad® with bespoke printing to promote the Mount Anvil Homes and ExCeL London brands.

Designed to enable residents to enjoy a laid-back dockside lifestyle, Royal Eden Docks boasts state of the art facilities including a gym, spa and rooftop running track along with a 24-hour concierge service and a cinema room. Due for completion in 2022, the development also includes 5,000 sqm of landscaped garden space.

Royal Eden Docks was designed by world-renowned architects, Skidmore, Owings and Merill, who are behind globally iconic buildings such as Dubai’s Burj Khalifa and the China World Trade Centre in Beijing. The development is located within an expanding area of East London which is set to receive £8bn investment over the next 20 years, burgeoning the new Elizabeth line (Crossrail) which will slash journey times across the capital to this thriving area of London. The Mayor of London has approved a £100m investment in public spaces, creating new walking and cycling routes through the Royal Docks.

FlameOUT® Block Standard became part of the specification when the product was chosen by PIB Contractors. Designed to help maintain the long-term condition of a building, FlameOUT® Block Standard is a polyethylene-based vapour control layer with a mono-filament reinforcement to provide excellent strength and nail tear resistance in wall and roof insulations. Its air and vapour control improves air tightness and prevents moisture within the building’s warm air from reaching the insulation layer and forming interstitial condensation. The membrane is independently tested to British and international flame retardant standards, including a Euroclass B-s1,d0 fire safety rating which meets the latest building regulations.

Scaffold contractor, N.T.Rix, fitted ITP’s Powerclad® vented sheeting to provide strong, air permeable containment and protection. Suitable for all scaffold systems and temporary perimeter fencing, the vented sheeting is compliant to BS 7955 and available in flame retardant grades to BS 476 Part 12C. ITP’s Powerclad® Standard FR sheeting is independently tested to achieve fire retardancy certification to all relevant standards including BS 7955, TS 62 for external use, TS 63 for internal use and Euroclass B-s1,d0 EN 13501.
