In 2014 the famous Abbey Road studio was granted planning permission for a multi-million-pound expansion project, which included replicating the zebra crossing - most famous for The Beatles posing on it for their album cover. Trees lining Abbey Road are protected, and permission is required from Westminster City Council for tree maintenance.
