OVERVIEW
THE BRIEF
Innovative outdoor space
Morriss House, a modern student accommodation complex located in the heart of Nottingham, is a prime example of how innovative design can enhance both the functionality and aesthetics of urban spaces. Designed by Weddle Landscape Architects, this contemporary development boasts impressive features that cater to the needs of students, offering outdoor spaces for socializing, relaxation, and environmental sustainability.
Langley Design worked closely with RG Group and Weddle Landscape Architects to understand the specific needs of the project and translate those requirements into bespoke solutions that complement the architectural vision and create a welcoming environment for residents. In collaboration with RG Group, we delivered a variety of high-quality, custom-designed elements that would seamlessly integrate into the landscaping of the site.

THE RESULT
A sustainable and adaptable space
Throughout the project, Langley Design worked closely with RG Group, the main contractor, and Weddle Landscape Architects, ensuring that the street furniture was delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Effective communication and collaboration were key to achieving the project’s goals, ensuring that the street furniture elements were installed seamlessly alongside the other landscaping features.
The result is a collection of beautifully designed and highly functional street furniture that both complemented and enhanced the vision for Morriss House, and supports the well-being and social life of students. The bespoke street furniture elements – from the sedum roof curved canopy to the picnic tables and benches – not only enhance the building’s architectural appeal but also contribute to the creation of sustainable, adaptable, and welcoming outdoor spaces.
Langley Design’s attention to detail and commitment to quality have played a crucial role in bringing the vision of Weddle Landscape Architects to life. By providing bespoke solutions that meet the needs of students and the local environment, Langley Design has contributed to the success of Morriss House as a forward-thinking, student-friendly development.
By bringing together design excellence, environmental sustainability, and high-quality craftsmanship, Langley Design has helped elevate Morriss House into an outstanding example of modern student accommodation.
