FlameOut Block enhances durability at prestigious apartment project

ITP’s FlameOUT Block vapour control layer was supplied for a prestigious build-to-rent apartment development aimed at the London commuter market.

The Perrymount Apartments complex is located close to Haywards Heath Station in Sussex, 30 miles from the centre of London. Designed by Broadway Malyan, the mixed-use scheme by Fairfax Homes comprises 145 apartments offering one, two and three bedroom living alongside 900sqm of commercial office space. The project forms part of a wide range of redevelopment around the town’s train station.

Four, seven storey residential buildings follow the natural gradient of the site to differentiate the roof line of the scheme and to reduce the requirement for access via ramps and steps. Most of the scheme features multi-red brick to blend with the existing streetscape while the top two storeys are clad with bespoke folded metal and filigree panels, contrasting with the brick and referencing the proximity of the railway lines.

FlameOUT Block became part of the build specification when it was ordered via the East Grinstead branch of Parker Building Supplies. ITP’s product is being used to improve the building’s air tightness and prevent warm-air moisture from reaching the insulation layer. The system has a Euroclass B,s3-d0 fire safety rating required by law for all vapour control layers on buildings over 18m in height.
