Timber Cycle Stores, University of Warwick

OVERVIEW

Broxap were selected by Willmot Dixon Contractors to provide cycle stores and a bin store at the University of Warwick.

Taking elements and design standards from their range of Blox Shelters Broxap created these bespoke units to serve as a bin store and cycle parking facility.

Based around a galvanized steel frame, FSC® (FSC-C122338) or PEFC certified timber slats were used to clad the framework and create an enclosed unit for the bin store whilst the cycle shelter was clad to the rear and one side providing easy access for rider to park their cycles on Sheffield stands beneath.

Roofing was trapezoidal roof cladding and steel elements were polyester powder coated in Merlin Grey.

The Bin store had 6 swing open front facing doors to provide easy access for the depositing of waste (wheelie bins are stored inside) and are secured via hasp and staple locks.
