OVERVIEW

A mixed-use redevelopment on a restricted London site — replacing an eight-level car park with a 180‑key Premier Inn and Class A office space — set within a narrow urban plot above railway tunnels. The project required lightweight, high-performance aluminium glazing solutions to meet strict structural, thermal, and aesthetic demands.

Key Glazing Requirements & Solutions:

  • Lightweight Structure: MB‑SR50N curtain wall systems and MB‑70HI/MB‑70HS windows and doors were selected to minimise load on reinforced existing foundations over railway tunnels.
  • Thermal Performance & Comfort: Highly insulated façade and window systems improved building energy efficiency and user comfort.
  • Architectural Expression: Slimline dividing mullions and custom aluminium fins supported the folded-plate aesthetic, while bronze anodised finishes linked the new hotel façade to the local context.
  • Installation Efficiency: Pre‑assembled unitised curtain wall modules facilitated rapid installation and reduced site assembly time.
