The Project:

Clive Booth Student Village is the largest student accommodation site at Oxford Brookes University, Oxford. The development features 342 en-suite rooms and is part of an ongoing effort to provide high-quality student housing. Managed by Morgan Sindall Construction, this modern accommodation is ideally positioned next to the University's Headington Campus and just a 20-minute walk from the city centre. To support this initiative, a secure and efficient mail and parcel delivery system was required to cater to the needs of the students.

Morgan Sindall approached The Safety Letterbox Company to provide a secure, high-quality mail and parcel delivery solution that would cater to the growing needs of the student accommodation. They required a system that could efficiently handle high volumes of student deliveries while ensuring security and ease of use. With our expertise in intelligent parcel management and robust mailbox solutions, we collaborated closely with Morgan Sindall to develop a tailored system that met their exact requirements.

The Challenge:  

With the growing number of students residing at Clive Booth Campus, there was a clear need for an efficient and secure mail and parcel delivery solution. The limited available space posed a challenge, requiring a system that could handle high volumes of student deliveries without causing congestion. Additionally, ensuring the security of parcels and letters was crucial to provide peace of mind for residents and avoid misplaced or stolen items. The solution needed to be both practical and seamlessly integrated into the modern student living environment.

Our Solution:

To meet the project’s requirements, we provided a bespoke solution combining two key product lines: myRENZbox Intelligent Lockers and the Steel 2 Horizontal Mailboxes, 

The myRENZbox Intelligent Lockers were installed to manage parcel deliveries efficiently. These lockers provide secure storage, and residents receive automated notifications when a parcel arrives, allowing them to retrieve their items conveniently using secure PIN access. The intelligent system minimises the risk of lost or stolen parcels while streamlining the delivery process.

The Steel 2 Horizontal Mailboxes were chosen for their durability and modern aesthetic. Installed in a wall-recessed configuration, these mailboxes optimise space while ensuring easy access for students. Each unit was numbered using vinyl numbering, making mail identification simple and effective.

For enhanced durability, the outdoor myRENZbox system was fitted with weather cladding, protecting it from environmental factors and ensuring long-term performance.

By integrating these innovative solutions, we provided Morgan Sindall with a forward-thinking system that meets both their operational requirements and the expectations of the student residents.
