OVERVIEW
Featuring 4.4 kilometres of striking copper-colored Accoya, the new GGZ-Nijmegen psychiatric clinic blends innovation with durability in a stunning rural setting. Designed by BogermanDill Architects and SBH Architects + Consultants, the clinic replaces outdated 1960s buildings with a highly engineered, curved design. Accoya was chosen over other wood species for its exceptional stability, making it ideal for the complex, steam-bent slats crafted by De Jong’s Wood Products. The result is a beautifully designed, long-lasting structure that meets both performance and aesthetic demands.
