The Project

A new Leisure Centre at Dudley is part of a multi-million-pound Leisure Centre program and regeneration of the area. The new facility will include a 25metre swimming pool, teaching pool, four-court sports hall, gym, exercise studios, soft play area, and café

Dudley Council has committed £17.4 million to the project in the heart of the town centre. Working in partnership with Alliance Leisure, through the UK Leisure Framework, the council will create a vibrant modern hub for residents and workers to enjoy a range of physical activities.

The Challenge

Propose a system suitable for a wet, high humidity environment including Cubicles, Ducts, Vanities, Lockers & Benches. Ensure the material used and the system proposed is suitable for a high traffic environment.

Changing cubicle divisions to have increased height at the rear of the cubicle to prevent users standing on the bench and peering over.

Fully framed cubicles to be free standing & self-supporting, positioned in centre of the changing area.

Create a locker area suitable for use by wheelchair users.

The Solution

Solid Grade Laminate was used throughout the scheme. 12mm core boards, self-supporting, highly durable and impervious to water penetration.

Hydroline system installed as a fully framed island constructed cubicle with profiled division panels at 2400mm.
