OVERVIEW

A key feature of the design by architects HLM is the ‘collaboration’ staircase, that uses biophilic design, natural finishes and light passage to create an appealing space in itself. Glazed fire rated screens would not only offer route protection but allow views of the stairs from the internal space to encourage use as the architect desires.

Our contracting team for the South worked with Morgan Sindall to manufacture and install FireTec E30 rated glazed screens surrounding the stairwell, with a combination of single, double and 1.5 leaf FireTec doors used from the Ground Floor to the Third Floor.

The ultra-slim FireTec uses stainless steel profiles for minimal framing and wide expanses of glass, combining durability with wide expanses of glass that, when combined with Rw 39 dB of acoustic performance, made it a perfect solution for LIHE.
