OVERVIEW
Built in 1888, Marina Park is a prominent residential development located in the coastal town of St Leonards-on-Sea. With its proximity to the seafront and exposure to harsh coastal weather, the Georgian style building required restoration and protection of the existing previously painted rendered surfaces.
Asletts Ltd, a local contractor, were appointed to complete the works. They required a long-lasting and breathable finish that would withstand the marine coastal environments.
A thorough clean was recommended, followed by a coat of KEIM Soldalit Grob to equalise any textural differences and fill hairline cracks within the render. A two-coat application of KEIM Soldalit-ME was applied due to its outstanding long-term durability.
Director of Asletts Ltd, Linden Aslett commented “We recently used KEIM paint for a project at Marina Park in St. Leonard’s-on-Sea and were thoroughly impressed with the results. One of the standout features was the exceptional breathability of the product. In a coastal environment where moisture control is critical, KEIM's mineral-based formulation allowed the substrate to breathe naturally while still offering long-lasting protection. This played a key role in preserving the integrity of the underlying surfaces and preventing common issues like peeling or blistering.
The coverage was also excellent, even on older masonry and rendered areas, the paint applied evenly and achieved a consistent finish with minimal effort. Its rich pigmentation and durability gave the site a refreshed and professional look that has stood up well to the elements.
Overall, KEIM paint delivered exactly what we needed for a high-performance, long-lasting solution in a challenging environment. We would gladly use it again and highly recommend it for similar projects where breathability, durability, and quality of finish are essential.”
KEIM Soldalit-ME will withstand harsh climatic conditions, ranging from hot, humid tropical conditions to harsh cold environments, ideal for severe and coastal UK weather. It is suited for use in exposed and coastal locations such as marine environments.
