THE PROJECT

Nestled between Battersea Power Station and Vauxhall on London’s vibrant South Bank, Bloom Nine Elms development epitomises luxurious urban living. This prestigious riverside location in the heart of Nine Elms features a selection of high-end apartments across two remarkable buildings: Nine Elms East and Nine Elms West.

Designed with renters in mind, the development promises an effortless living experience. Esteemed developers Greystar have meticulously crafted each to provide maximum comfort and convenience.

Greystar approached The Safety Letterbox Company to create a bespoke mailbox system that would complement the stylish and modern design of their development. After the successful installation of our mailboxes at Nine Elms East, we were commissioned to deliver an enhanced version at Nine Elms West.

THE CHALLENGE

Our mission was straightforward: design and install a secure keyless mailbox system that would seamlessly integrate with and enhance the aesthetics of the development, while also meeting the functional requirements for 444 individual mailboxes.

Collaborating closely with the client, architect and Ruddy joinery team, we aimed to fulfil the design brief and provide an elegant solution.

At Nine Elms East, we installed 462 COM 2, wall mounted mailboxes equipped with our standard Nano digital locks. For Nine Elms West, however, the client desired a slight variation to further elevate the design.

OUR SOLUTION

In response to the brief and the requirement for 444 individual mailboxes, we engineered a recessed system of COM 2 mailboxes with Digilocks to be installed within the wall of the bespoke mail room.

The COM 2 model was selected for both projects due to its exceptional strength, customisation options, and variety of locking mechanisms. Additionally, it adheres to EN 13724, Class 0, and Secure by Design Homes 2022 guidelines, ensuring top-notch security and durability.

By integrating digital locks in both installations, we provided a keyless mail system that eliminates the risks associated with lost or forgotten keys. This innovation not only enhances security but also future-proofs the project, guaranteeing a smooth and hassle-free experience for residents.
