The Place, Nottingham

Nottingham is home to a number of universities and student accommodation is in high demand.  This new build located in the city centre offers premium accommodation for 409 students and features a gym and dedicated study spaces as well as a Sky Lounge on the 8th floor with a 360 roof terrace.  

The terrace required a non-combustible solution to ensure maximum fire-safety for the residents and their visitors, and naturally Class A Tavira 600x400mm concrete paving in Silver from  AG Paving as paired with the aluminium A-PED range from Buzon, who were contracted to supply and install on top of a single ply finish to Rockwool insulation.

The A-PED-JOIST was used to provide framing on top of the pedestal for additional stability, and end stops were used to create even gaps around the edge of the paving and to prevent any lateral movement of pavers.

The resulting terrace now features planters, seating and pods, and is the perfect space for socialising and enjoying the views over the city.
