OVERVIEW
Like any modern workplace, Canary Wharf faces the same challenges of rapid technological advancements, political uncertainties, and socio-economic shifts. However, in 2015, this rapid pace of change presented unique challenges for the Estate's existing infrastructure. Following a comprehensive review of the physical infrastructure of multiple buildings, Canary Wharf Group identified that ageing revolving doors, which were once state-of-the-art, faced a risk of obsolescence.
By highlighting the benefits of retrofitting, the Group took decisive action to adopt a retrofit-first strategy. This proactive approach focuses on upgrading and modernising existing entrance systems, ensuring long-term reliability and adaptability while retaining the structural integrity of the doors.
