OVERVIEW
Ysgol Gymraeg Cwm Gwyddon in Newport were looking to provide much-needed shelter to protect students in each class from unpleasant weather. The finished canopies look exceptional, and provide ample coverage around the full perimeters of the school.
What was the project brief?
Ysgol Gymraeg Cwm Gwyddon is a newly developed school, that has been built to provide for 420 pupils, with the addition of a Nursery and Specialist Resource Base on site. To provide these pupils with adequate shelter, there was a need for twelve canopies to be situated outside each of their classrooms, with an additional two canopies to provide shelter to their entrances. The school were flexible with their design and our consultants got to work to design the best canopy solutions for the site.
What was our canopy solution?
The final design features twelve of our Motiva Cantilever™ straight roof canopies, with the addition of a completely bespoke entrance canopy variation from our Motiva™ product line. The robust design combines a steel structure with a Window Grey Duracoat™, and a toughened, bronze-tinted, glass roof. The finished look is sleek and modern, and provides vital shelter for the kids to stand under when it is raining or to protect against sunburn. The canopies can also be used to shelter each class’s outdoor equipment from the elements.
