Infill systems:
Typically supported at the slab edge between hot-rolled steel or concrete primary support frame. The secondary SFS frameworks are typically assembled as kit form on site or, for more rapid installation, the SFS frameworks as part of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) may be provided as a pre-panelised solution that is factory-assembled off-site. Such pre-assembled panels may be supplied in either small or large format depending on individual project requirements. The SFS framework allows insulation and external finishes to be installed outside the main structural frame if the correct tolerance scheme is adopted. The system is suitable for both low and high-rise construction. A deflection allowance is required at each floor level. Kingframe infill systems are BBA approved.
Oversail systems:
Fitted outside the line of the structural frame using support cleats at each floor level with connections designed to allow slab deflection. It is particularly suited to situations where cladding materials are sensitive to differing movement of the main frame. Adequate base support must be provided to accommodate vertical loading. Kingframe oversail systems are BBA approved.
Load bearing systems:
The SFS studs are designed to provide primary support for vertical (axial) compressive loads from the roof and floors of the building. No deflection detail is incorporated.
System typically incorporates SFS floor joists at coincident positions to stud set out to robustly tie all the floors, roof and walls together forming the structure. Kingframe load bearing systems are BBA approved up to three storeys.
The Kingframe Steel Framing System (SFS) is manufactured from light gauge galvanised steel. The system consists of C-shaped studs and U-shaped tracks designed on a project specific basis to form the inner leaf of an external façade.
SFS has been extensively used in construction projects covering residential flats, apartments, healthcare and educational developments, commercial developments, public buildings and industrial properties in both infill and oversail arrangements.
Kingspan SFS system utilises our unique slotted stud ends in conjunction with plain U-track at head to achieve a deflection detail for Infill systems. Alternative standard details are available to achieve deflection head requirements such as Deflection Head Bracket (DHB) ancillary item.
Quality and Durability:
Kingspan insulated panels are manufactured from the highest quality materials, using state of the art production equipment to rigorous quality control standards, complying with:
