Fastening of composite roof and wall panels in single operation.

SFS Group Fastening Technology Ltd's composite panel fasteners are made from A4 austenitic stainless steel. They are dual threaded, with 2 thread diameters depending on the substrate. For substates up to 4mm a 6.3 mm diameter thread into the purlin/ rail and a outer sheet support thread of 6.5 mm diameter, immediately below a thread free section. For substrates from 4mm to 14mm a 5.8mm diameter thread into the steel and a outer sheet support thread of 6.0mm diameter, mmediately below a thread free section

The head is available in the industry standard 8 mm hex head and Irius® head.

The outer sheet support thread is of double asymmetric design providing 2 points of contact, supporting the weather-sheet against concentrated loads generally from walking locally to fastener position.

To prevent over-torqueing there is a thread free section behind the washer. These features combine with the sealing element below to achieve an airtight and water tight connection.

Sealing element:

The sealing element comprises of a light grey EPDM which is 3mm thick and designed to achieve an air tight and water tight connection. The EPDM sealing element is permanently bonded (vulcanized) to a 1 mm austenitic stainless steel conical shaped backing washer.

Approvals:

The SXC-A4 Fasteners are ETA approved (ETA number 13-183) and are CE marked. Technical performance in terms of tensile and shear are all documented in the ETA to enable the engineer to determine safe working loads in accordance with EuroNorms.
