This is the eye-catching cycle hub Falco recently designed, manufactured, supplied and installed for the new National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) headquarters in Glasgow this month.Located near to Glasgow Airport, the cycle hub is part of a new multi million pound carbon neutral development for a flagship facility at the heart of the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland in Renfrewshire.Based on the flagship FalcoHub design, the 12m x 6m cycle hub is coupled with the FalcoLevel-Eco two-tier cycle parking system, providing 108 secure cycle spaces.Falco provided the eye-catching branding design which was applied to the powder coated sendzimir perforated sheet cladding, promoting the use of cycling as an alternative method of transport to and from the ground-breaking facility.In addition to the cycle hub, a bicycle silhouette statue was secured to the right side of the roof for additional branding.The images attached show the new cycle hub addition, installed this month, next to the new 11,500m2 HQ building.The cycle hub as shown here for NMIS is just one of hundreds supplied and installed by Falco across the UK. These are the latest secure bike hangars manufactured, supplied and installed by Falco for Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust. This is the latest cycle hub designed, manufactured, supplied and installed this month by Falco for Rochdale Infirmary Hospital in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. In May 2022, Falco were asked to visit Turnpike House by the same client to look at installing a secure shelter that wasn’t too imposing in height and size. The shelter was for staff to replace an old tired flat roof structure.To keep the same theme at the two sites, Falco used the same mechanical code lock and 11.5mm toughened laminated heat soaked glass in glass clamps, then customized the graphics to match. The steelwork of the cycle hub was powder coated in the same attractive NHS blue RAL colour.The unit accommodates eight cycles using traditional Sheffield stands and was designed to sit on the same footprint of the old shelter that would only accommodate five cycles.The whole shelter is a bespoke contemporary design of the classic Falco Cycle Hub shelter, which features clean lines through the glass cladding and supported by stainless steel glass clamps. The picturesque Isle of Skye is the latest setting for Falco’s most recent cycle shelter installation, taking place at the Sabhal Mòr Ostaig higher education college, which is also the National Centre for Gaelic Language and Culture, located in the Sleat peninsula to the south of the island.Falco installed two FalcoZan-180 cycle shelters at the college’s Àrainn Chaluim Chille campus, providing students and staff members with up to twenty secure and lockable cycle parking spaces.Each bay of the adapted FalcoZan shelter, featuring bespoke lockable gates, is manufactured from a combination of hot-dip galvanised steel with FSC® certified hardwood slats. The FalcoZan is coupled with the popular five stand Toaster cycle rack, providing universal cycle parking for all types of cycle designs. This is the latest cycle hub designed, manufactured, supplied and installed by Falco as part of a new regeneration at Walkden Railway Station. Boosting sustainable travel access for Walkden residents, the new cycle hub has been commissioned by Salford City Council to help combat congestion, provide dedicated off-street parking and provide greater cycling accessibility to and from the station.The 12m x 4.5m bespoke shelter is based on the UK’s most popular cycle hub design - the FalcoHub and features secure cycle parking for up to 32 bikes, utilising traditional Sheffield cycle stands. The steelwork of the roof has been powder coated in a ‘Traffic Blue’ RAL colour, whilst the rest of the steelwork has been powder coated in a seperate ‘Squirrel Grey’ RAL colour. LED lighting with a occupancy sensor has been fitted to the roof alongside bespoke branding graphics which have been applied to the toughened safety glass cladding.The new cycle hub makes use of the FalcoSmart app-based locking system, which uses Bluetooth technology to activate the locking mechanism from the users smart phone or tablet, with the benefit that they no longer need to carry keys or fobs. Cyclists are able to apply for access to the hub via the Council and having downloaded the ‘App’ are given access rights to the cycle hub for a period of time depending on their subscription.The system has a fully automated back office enabling the administrator to register new locks for new cycle stores as well as adding new users and creating groups and assigning rights. Falco is delighted to be partnering with the London Borough of Waltham Forest on its public cargo bike hire scheme ‘Cargo Bikes for Business’. The scheme which is designed to support local businesses in supplying and delivering goods uses cargo bikes housed in FalcoSmart App-operated FalcoPod-Cargo bike hangars.Two  FalcoPod-Cargo bike hangars have been delivered to locations on Orford Road Walthamstow and the High Road in Leytonstone, where they will be available for use by local businesses.
