The construction of Oakmoor School in Hampshire was central to the regeneration of a former garrison town Whitehill and Bordon. Responding to the flat site and mature woodland context, the school has been designed as a collegiate campus with four separate buildings arranged to create a central courtyard that acts as a social and teaching hub for the school’s community. 

This Grade II listed barn in North Yorkshire has undergone an incredible transformation using Schüco aluminium systems to extend and modernise the property while paying homage to its agricultural heritage.  

Located in the heart of central London, adjacent to the iconic St Paul’s Cathedral, 25 Cannon Street recently underwent a significant transformation to become a symbol of contemporary workspace excellence. Norton Folgate is an eclectic mixed-use development on Blossom Street, located near the iconic Spitalfields Market and Liverpool Street Station in London. The £180 million project involved extensive refurbishment of ten existing buildings, as well as eight new builds across six plots. Perched atop an exposed ridge in The Chilterns, Kate and [husband’s name] Fischer’s home, a former Gamekeeper’s Lodge, has been given a new lease of life with an oak frame extension and Schüco glazing systems.

Borough Yards is a vibrant new development of retail streets and commercial office space located in and around a series of restored railway arches next to historic Borough Market in southeast London.The retained façades of forgotten warehouses blend sensitively into a new development providing elevations to two 6-storey office buildings. Schüco Jansen thermally broken steel windows and doors were chosen to replace the original thermally inefficient steel windows, and for the glazing in the new long elevation.Photo credits: Dean Hearne

Lorna and Gavin Gall’s new home on the banks of the River Clyde has large sliding or bi-fold Schüco doors on every floor providing river views and filling the house with natural light.In addition to the sliding and bi-fold doors, the front of the house has Schüco tilt/turn windows, and fixed windows around the front door.

The Old School House at the historic Francis Holland School in Sloane Square, London, has undergone an extensive renovation which includes the addition of glazed steel-framed screens and Schüco Jansen steel fire doors throughout the building.As part of a transformation that has brought the building into the modern era without sacrificing history or style, the new steel screening and fire doors increase the vital element of safety in the space.Photo credit: Forcia

One Portsoken Street, an iconic brutalist building at the edge of the City of London has recently been the site of the largest design and build (D&B) project in the UK, delivering over 230,000sq ft of commercial and retail units to London—something the UK’s D&B market has never seen before.Standout elements include circular turrets, exposed concrete and steel beams, and a naturally lit space on the top floor, featuring amazing views of the city through the atrium’s original glass roof.Photo credit: Oliver Pohlmann

Part of a wider development in Spitalfields, East London, Lamb Street is a two-storey mixed-use commercial project completed in 2023, with an award-winning design inspired by local history.Installed by Nuëcø Façade & Glazing Solutions, the project features both aluminium and steel curtain walling systems from Schüco, as well as Schüco AD UP 75 doors with concealed hinges and full-height pull bars with up to RC2 security. The upper floor and ground floor shopfronts are constructed with Schüco FWS 50+ SG (structural glazing) aluminium curtain walling. Built on the site of a former outdoor pool, the redevelopment of Eton College’s sporting facilities features a 25-metre indoor pool, a versatile four-court sports hall and a study-café.Eton Sports and Aquatics Centre was created to provide students with the highest quality amenities commensurate with the status of the college.
