Suitable to provide the necessary restraint to the top of masonry walls and accommodates vertical movement.

Description

Stainless steel head restraints designed to allow vertical movement to accommodate shrinkage or thermal movement of the wall or structural frame, whilst restraining wind loads.

Head restraint requirements/ spacing to be determined by Structural Engineer and Contractor to be informed.

The standard Ancon IHR suits a 215 mm high block.

Manufacturer guidance

  • Restraint for the top of internal wall, or the inner leaf of a cavity wall.
  • The sliding top section of the IHR is available in three lengths; one length to suit 25-50 mm gaps, one for 51-75 mm gaps, and a longer length for 76-100 mm gaps.
  • The standard height of an Ancon IHR will suit a 215 mm block. Other stem lengths are available to suit cut blocks with a minimum height of 140 mm.
  • The IHR-V has a single 9 x 25 mm wide slot to allow fixing to the underside of a structural member.
  • For design resistance information at 900 mm and 450 mm centres, please refer to Leviat technical literature.
