Two-part wall tie.
Suitable for connecting the leaves of cavity walls.
Two part tie designed for cavities between 150 and 400 mm. One part is built into the inner leaf of masonry; the other part is fixed as the outer leaf is built. An embedment of 75 mm is required at each end. The inner tie is usually manufactured in lengths of 170 mm with variation in the cavity width being accommodated by the length of the outer section.
Where insulation thickness is in excess of 60 mm, the inner section should be longer than the standard 170 mm to ensure the connection between the two parts is made in the open cavity. When using the standard 170 mm inner section, Ancon two-part ties sustain loads which exceed the requirements for a Type 2 tie to PD 6697 for cavities up to 400 mm.
Type 3 performance is achieved at the standard tie spacing for other inner section lengths up to 230 mm for cavities up to 400 mm. Insulation retaining clips can be supplied to fit the inner section.
