Application

To reduce smoke and heat in the case of fires, and to enable escape.

Description

Features and benefits:

  • In addition to effective air flow when operational, the automatic opening vents resist weather penetration and provide appropriate thermal insulation when closed.
  • Can be used with simple control systems linked to smoke detectors, networked systems or centralized control panels.
  • Manufactured in accordance with EN 12101-2.
  • High performance U-value.
  • Can be with exposed actuators or concealed actuators.
  • Wide range of bespoke sizes from 700x600mm to 1500x2500mm.


Operation and ventilation options include;

  • 140° opening AOV (1500mm maximum span/opening width).
  • Electrically operated.

Various fixing/foot types depending on application available as splayed or vertical include;

  • Type A Foot – to suit flat board insulation
  • Type B Foot – To suit laid to falls
  • Type C Foot - Direct to deck – no insulation
  • Type D - Adaptor kerb – Fixing to a builders kerb or upstand
  • Type E Foot - Fixing to new timber ground
  • Type F – Sleeve Over existing kerb 
  • Type G - for fixing to an existing kerb or plinth


Pitch

  • On flat roof with 0° pitch (glass, polycarbonate or insulated solid lid) or 3° pitch (glass only).


Thermally insulated AOVs will have an X3 kerb

Non-thermal insulated AOVs will have an X5 kerb

Mounting

Roof mounted, single pitched.

Guidance for specification option:

Vent can open to 90º or 140º. Can be supplied with an insulated kerb for fixing directly to the roof deck. The roofing membrane is dressed up the outside of the kerb to provide weathering. Alternatively, if a kerb is constructed as part of the roofing system, a kerb adapter can be supplied. Both kerb and kerb adaptors are manufactured from folded galvanized steel or aluminium, and can be thermally broken.
