Drainage layer | BauderGREEN DSE 20 drainage board.Guidance for specification option: PE-HD 20 mm depth water storage and multi-directional drainage layer. Roofs pitched between 1–5°. PE-HD water storage and multi-directional drainage layer. Used on roofs 1–5° finished falls. Loose laid (open profile cup up) on to the Protection Layer (or WFRL on inverted roofs) over completed waterproofing to provide continuous drainage within hard and soft landscaping. It is primarily used where the load is moderate, such as extensive green roofs, beneath paving laid on sand/ cement or gravel bedding or within planter beds. Boards should be interlocked by a minimum of one profile cup and all board joints staggered. Cut to fit closely around penetrations and outlets.
The drainage/ water storage board also provides a suitable base surface for building concrete or brick kerbs/ walls. The specified infill haunching should be installed over the board to the required depth of cover, poured directly into the profile cup of the board. These should be constructed to provide an adequate support for the raised masonry planters. BauderGREEN DSE40 drainage board.Guidance for specification option: 40 mm deep, high-density polyethylene (PE-HD) water storage and multidirectional drainage layer. Roofs pitched between 0 and 5°. PE-HD water storage and multi-directional drainage layer. Used on roofs 0–5° finished falls. Loose laid (open profile cup up) on to the Protection Layer (or WFRL on inverted roofs) over completed waterproofing to provide continuous drainage within hard and soft landscaping. It is primarily used where the load is moderate to high, such as extensive and intensive green roofs. Its compressive strength makes it suitable beneath paving laid on sand/cement or gravel bedding or within planter beds. Boards are to be interlocked by a minimum of one profile cup and all board joints staggered. The ‘X’ stamped impression on the highpoint of the cup moulding indicates where boards overlap. Cut to fit closely around penetrations and outlets.

Board fill layer / Bedding layer | Screed by others. Guidance for specification option: Type: As specified by the landscape designer/ architect. Extent: To designated areas beneath concrete paving – See landscape designers/architect’s plan. Installation: Apply directly into the profiled cups of the specified drainage board, spread evenly and then additionally to the required finished depth. Provision should be made for containing the bedding screed layer at all abutments to ensure that material does not drop or leech into the area beneath the drainage layer and wash through to the outlets i.e. bedded concrete abutment kerbs or similar. The waterproofing should be isolated from any direct contact with the screed. If the roof deck is level, it is advisable to create the falls within the bedding layer, so rainwater run-off is directed to the outlets/ drainage point. |
Surface finish | Paving/ Block Paving supplied by others. Guidance for specification option: Paving installation: Slabs/ suitable pavers to be laid in suitable bedding screed, as specified by the landscape designer/ architect and strictly in accordance with their specific recommendations regarding the layout in keeping with the landscape design. Setting out: Minimize cutting. Joints: Grouted in accordance with the client’s requirements. Slabs must be level and stable. |

Connecting the drainage channels: Individual sections of BauderGREEN ER MR 150/60 channel should be joined using Bauder Connection Clips, with Bauder Stop Ends used where the drain terminates at abutments. On Gravel Support Bedding: The channel is to be fully supported on free draining crushed aggregate i.e. Bauder mineral drain. For levelling purposes, the BauderGREEN ER MR 150/60 channel sections are to be laid on a 30 mm deep 2–5 mm crushed granular bedding layer and levelled as required finish flush with adjacent paving. Please note that the crushed aggregate materials below the linear drainage channels will have to be contained to prevent loss beneath the related drainage board product – either contained with Bauder Filter Fleece or retained using a perforated non-corroding metal support angle. On adjustable legs: Leg sets are available allowing the linear drain channel total height to be adjusted between 75–120 mm. Please note that leg sets must be ordered separately. These drainage channel units are perforated and designed to allow water to discharge at a controlled rate into the drainage layer below.
