Application

Fire and non-fire door edges.

Description

Door edge protectors to reduce damage to meeting and hinged edges of fire doors.

Features and benefits:

  • Available with a range of fire ratings.
  • Protectors are manufactured from extruded PVC-U, and are designed to reduce damage and maintenance costs to both fire and non-fire door edges.
  • Where a fire rating is required, the edge protectors incorporate intumescent strips.
  • All Door Edge Protectors are individually manufactured to suit each door thickness. 

Approvals:

  • Patented Product - FD30/FD60.
  • BS 476: Part 22: 1987 - For 1/2 hour or one-hour fire integrity on full door assemblies. BS 476: Part 31.1: 1983 – To meet requirements of BS 5588.

VOC Emissions

Yeoman Shield PVC-U Falmouth Wall & Door Protection panels have been tested for VOC to ISO 16000-10:2006 Indoor air - Part 10.

The test showed the following results:

  • <10 µg/m²h for TVOC.
  • <5 µg/m²h for formaldehyde.

 

The interpretation of these results by BRE are if all the walls (less door and window) of the 30 m³ reference room described in BS EN 16515‑2017 (with a ventilation rate of 0.5 air changes per hour) were clad with Yeoman Shield PVC-U Falmouth Wall & Door Protection Panels, the increase in TVOC in the room would be <20 µg/m³ for TVOC and <10 µg/m³ for formaldehyde and these are deemed to be low.

 

BREEAM Hea 02 has limits of 300 µg/m³ for TVOC and 100 µg/m³ for formaldehyde, so the theoretical increases in TVOC and formaldehyde from using the PVC-U sheet are deemed as low.
