Application

For use within the Duoflex Roofing System. Specifically for hot-melt applications; must be heated to 155–180°C before application. Suitable for use in a ballasted system with a SBS modified bitumen protection membrane, XPS insulation, water flow reduction layer and suitable ballast.

Description

Soprema’s hot applied, Duoflex Hot Melt structural waterproofing system is characterised by reduced lifecycle costs and self-healing properties for podium deck waterproofing and on inverted flat roofs. Duoflex structural waterproofing can be installed on zero falls in accordance with BS 6229 2018, and a root-resistant cap sheet can be incorporated into the system for subsequent green roof installations.

BBA-certified, this structural waterproofing system is made to last the lifetime of the structure to which it is applied. In addition to the DUOFLEX elastomeric bitumen blocks, Soprema’s structural waterproofing systems range consists of SBS bituminous primers, SBS modified bitumen membranes, XPS Insulation and a water flow reduction layer. An inverted Duoflex system must be ballasted with either paving slabs, stone ballast or a green roof system to prevent wind uplift and flotation.

Features and benefits:

  • Optimum adhesion.
  • Guaranteed longevity.
  • Easy to install.
  • Good technical performance.
  • Properties in relation to fire: when used in a protected or inverted roof specification, including an inorganic covering listed in the Annex of Commission Decision 2000/553/EC, the system can be considered to be unrestricted under the national Requirements.
