Description

High-performance double-glazed insulated glass unit with enhanced safety, security, acoustic performance, and solar control properties through the integration of ecoLam™ laminated glass on the outer pane. Optimized for hot climates such as those found in the UAE, MENA, and India regions.

Features and benefits:

  • Centre-pane U-value: 1.4 W/m²K (maximum).
  • Solar heat gain coefficient (g-value): 0.25-0.30.
  • Visible light transmittance (VLT): 40-45%.
  • Light to solar gain ratio (LSG): ≥1.6.
  • Sound reduction index (Rw): 35–38 dB.
  • Safety classification: Class 1(B)1 to BS EN 12600 (for laminated glass components).
  • Security Rating: P2A to BS EN 356 (minimum).

Glass composition:

  • Outer pane (ecoLAM™):
    • Material: laminated safety glass to BS EN 14449.
    • Composition: 6 mm clear/mid iron or low iron heat strengthened glass + 1.52 mm PVB + 6 mm clear/mid iron or low iron heat strengthened glass with advanced solar control and thermally insulating single silver or double silver low-emissivity coating on #4 surface.
    • Total thickness: 13.52 mm (nominal).
    • Finish: clear or as specified in schedule.
    • Interlayer: Kuraray or equivalent.
  • Cavity:
    • Width: 16 mm (nominal).
    • Gas fill: 90% argon.
    • Spacer: Technoform or equivalent warm edge spacer.
    • Sealant: Dowsil 3362 or equivalent.
    • Desiccant: molecular sieve.
  • Inner pane:
    • Material: heat strengthened glass to BS EN 1863-1.
    • Thickness: 6 mm (nominal).
    • Finish: clear/mid iron or low iron as specified in schedule.
  • Overall IGU thickness: 35.52 mm (nominal).
