Pre-tested options and project specific testing available.
SIDOS compliant 'bomb-blast' suspended ceiling grids available
DREEAM compliant
Demountable + Safety Tether options
BCL's design-flexible, suspended ceilings using timber cladding panels for external soffit applications. Timber panels are available in hit and miss, shiplap, tongue and groove and board-on-board styles.
BCL's open-configurable system offers thousands of design options, whilst harnessing the efficiency benefits of prefabrication, to deliver high-performance timber slat panels, sized according to layouts - removing any cutting or modification on site and allowing faster, more efficient installation with less on-site waste.
The secret-fixing wood cladding panels remove surface weaknesses and penetrations from screws and nails to the exposed face of each timber slat, meaning exposed timber panels age better and coatings last longer.
There are two different suspension grids for external timber soffits and ceilings, depending on your preferences and access requirements:

System performance | Manufacturer guidanceBCL perform full systems fire testing to EN13501-1. The solid timber slats are typically pressure treated with non-hazardous (zero biocide) fire retardant to achieve either Euroclass B or C timber soffits. Consult manufacturer for details. |
Ceiling support | CS-1 Concealed Semi-Fixed.Guidance for specification option: Panels 'screw-up' to the underside of fully concealed T-bar sub-grid, can be mechanically unscrewed to demount if required. This system is suitable for high-level, banked or external timber ceiling systems that are exposed to wind-loading. CF-1 Concealed Fixed.Guidance for specification option: Panels 'hang' to a fully concealed tubular sub-grid using suspension hooks. The ceiling or soffit panels are hung onto a tubular aluminium sub-grid using proprietary BCL panel clips. This system is usually reserved for complex geometry. |
