Description

A solvent-based, rust stabilizing thick film primer for ferrous metals.


The product contains anti-corrosive pigments and the thick film creates a barrier inhibiting the formation of further rust and helping to smooth rough substrates.


Features and benefits:

  • A high performance anti-corrosive formulation.
  • Quick drying.
  • Naturally red in colour.
  • Suitable for use on gates, railings and metal drainpipes.
  • Apply two coats, allowing a minimum of six hours between coats.
  • Compatible with most paints. A topcoat may be applied after a minimum of six hours. For best results, allow 24 hours.

  • All surfaces must be clean and dry.
  • Remove loose rust, scale and paint with a wire brush then rub down with coarse abrasive paper to provide a firm surface.
  • Abrade bare steel with coarse abrasive paper.
  • Degrease all surfaces with Hammerite Brush Cleaner & Thinners and allow to dry.
  • Stir paint thoroughly.
  • For best results when applying by roller, use a short pile mohair roller.
