Handrail - Guardian Twin

A two part system comprising of the Guardian 48.3 mm Diameter Handrail uppermost, underslung with either a 125 or 200 mm deep protection rail (on a solid MDF or aluminium core) incorporating a two part fixing spacer complete with stainless steel posts.

The product is ideal for areas where a solid protection rail is required to protect walls from wheeled and motorized trolleys and carts whilst a handrail support is also required for use by pedestrians. With the protection rail standing slightly forward of the handrail, dual capability of this product helps to reduce maintenance and repainting costs by eliminating the damage that can be caused to the lower level of walls as well as the upper handrail. The rigid PVC-U rails do not harbour the growth of bacteria if cleaned regularly and are available in an array of colours with matching or contrasting accessories.

Though all the above colour ways are available, Yeoman Shield would recommend the use of contrasting accessories to highlight corners, stop/ start points, doorways and changes in direction as recommended under DDA guidelines, the Building Regulations, British Standards and Construction Guidelines for Handrails. If matching accessories are preferred then these are only available in the above colours in Cream, Black, White, Opal Green, Buff, Steel Blue and Light Green PVC-U sleeve.

VOC Emissions

Yeoman Shield PVCu Falmouth Wall & Door Protection panels have been tested for VOC to ISO 16000-10:2006 Indoor air - Part 10.

The test showed the following results:

<10 µg m^‑2 h^‑1 for TVOC

<5 µg m^‑2 h^‑1 for Formaldehyde

The interpretation of these results by BRE are if all the walls (less door and window) of the 30 m³ reference room described in BS EN 16515‑2017

(with a ventilation rate of 0.5 air changes per hour) were clad with our Yeoman Shield PVCu Falmouth Wall & Door Protection Panels, the increase in TVOC in the room would

be <20 µg m^‑3 for TVOC and <10 µg m^‑3 for Formaldehyde and these are deemed to be low.

BREEAM Hea02 has limits of 300 µg m^‑3 for TVOC and 100 µg m^‑3 for Formaldehyde, so the theoretical increases in TVOC and Formaldehyde from

using our PVCu sheet are deemed as low.
