Application

Suitable for use on timber stud, metal stud, brick and block walls in domestic, commercial and public sector buildings.

Description

The HD1040 Hush Wall System is a highly versatile solution for providing acoustic insulation in timber stud, metal stud, brick and block walls, delivering a high standard of airborne sound reduction.

It is tested as a complete system and fully compliant with all UK Building Regulations - Approved Document E (England & Wales), Part G (Northern Ireland) and Section 5 (Scotland).

HD1040 is ideal for transforming sound insulation levels in different separating wall constructions, with an innovative design to reduce both flanking and direct sound transmission with only a minimal loss of space in the room. Key to this is the incorporation of a composite three layered board (1800 x 900 x 27 mm) and a resilient bar system.

Key features and benefits:

  • Building Regulations Approved Document E (England & Wales), Technical Handbook Section 5 (Scotland) and Technical Handbook G (Northern Ireland) compliant.
  • High standards of airborne sound reduction.
  • Can reduce both flanking and direct sound transmission.
  • Minimal loss of space.

How the system is formed:

  • Hush Wall Boards are fitted with all gaps filled using acoustic mastic and sealed at all perimeters with Hush Isolation Tape, fixed horizontally to Hush Bar Resilient Bars with 32 mm dry wall screws.
  • Hush Slab 25, or thickness to suit, is fitted into cavity between studs or tightly between Hush Bars when applying to brick or block
  • Hush Bar Resilient Bars are then fixed horizontally at 450 mm centres to stud or wall, to allow for scrim joints and all perimeters to be sealed prior to skimming.

Acoustic Performance*:

  • Impact (L’nT,w): 58 dB.
  • Airborne (DnT,w): 48 dB.
  • Airborne (DnT,w + Ctr): 58 dB.

* Results based on 100 mm timber stud wall.
