Application

Suitable for use in separating floor/ ceiling constructions in conversion, refurbishment and new build developments where a masonry structure is in place.

The system can be used to reduce sound transmission in domestic dwellings – houses and apartments – as well as buildings used for education, hotels, care homes, offices and hospitals.

Any building constructed using concrete separating floors may benefit from this system providing the floor and ceiling can both be treated.

Summary of building types that are most suitable for this system:

  • Domestic (houses and apartments/ flats).
  • Healthcare and hospitals.
  • Hotels.
  • Care homes.
  • Schools, colleges and universities.
  • Student accommodation buildings.
  • Commercial offices.

Description

The HD1042 is an acoustic flooring system for separating floors which is designed to provide sound insulation under screed floors in all kinds of refurbishment, conversion and new build projects.

It has been fully tested as a complete system to demonstrate compliance with all the Building Regulations covering the UK - Approved Document E (England & Wales), Part G (Northern Ireland) and Section 5 (Scotland).

It is formed using Hush Acoustics' high quality acoustic materials including the Hush Under Screed 6 Membrane, RD flanking strip, Hush-Slab sound absorber and the Hush MF ceiling system. This is combined with GYPROC Soundbloc plasterboard to complete the system.

How the HD1042 Hush Underscreed 6 System is formed:

  • Hush Under Screed 6 Acoustic Membrane is laid over the masonry structure, ensuring it is installed as per the installation guide.
  • The screed is then laid over the Hush Under Screed Membrane (with no screed bridging the masonry construction).
  • The perimeters of the screed are then isolated using the Hush RD Flanking Strip.
  • The Hush MF Ceiling is installed to the underside of the masonry construction, ensuing a 150mm void is created from the underside of the masonry to the back of the plasterboard lining.
  • Hush Slab 100 Sound Absorber is installed within the Hush MF Ceiling System.
  • The system is completed by fitting a double layer of 12.5mm Soundbloc Plasterboard to the underside of the Hush MF Ceiling System.

Acoustic Performance:

Impact (L’nT,w) - 48 dB

Airborne (DnT,w) - 51 dB

Airborne (DnT,w + Ctr) - 49 dB

*Results based on the full Hush System HD1042 being using and installed as listed above. All flanking paths must be treated correctly.

Features and benefits:
