Application

Suitable for basement conversions in refurbishment and material change of use projects in residential (domestic), commercial and public buildings.

Description

The HD1044 Acoustic Basement System from Hush Acoustics is an ideal acoustic solution for basements in residential conversion and refurbishment projects.

This fully tested, complete system combines Hush Acoustics' advanced sound insulating materials to reduce the transmission of sound from the rooms above basement areas. This has the potential for basements to be used as living/sleeping spaces as they will be insulated from noise sources above, or used for purposes where loud noises are generated – such as for a cinema room – without having an excessive impact on the floors above.

HD1044 is compliant with all UK Building Regulations relating to the passage of sound in buildings - Approved Document E (England & Wales), Section 5 (Scotland) and Part G (Northern Ireland).

How the HD1044 system is formed:

  • The floor is removed and Hush Slab 100 Sound Absorber panels are fitted between the floor joists. These slabs are tightly packed between the joists to ensure there are no gaps. The floor can then be replaced.
  • On the ceiling side, Hush Deep Resilient Bars are fixed horizontally to the underside of the joists at 600mm centres.
  • Hush Multi Panel is installed to the underside of the Hush Deep Resilient Bars, over-boarded with 15mm Fireline plasterboard.
