Hush Cradle

Hush Cradles are designed to replace the traditional 'packer' method of levelling – the infinitely adjustable thread allows precise levelling across even or uneven subfloors of concrete or timber.

The factory bonded polypropylene acoustic felt base, having a very high resistance to long term compression, provides the required impact protection.

How to use Hush Cradles

1. Set out the cradles at the required centres and install the battens with the joins directly over a cradle. Allow for perimeter cradles/battens at the ends of the batten runs. All perimeter cradles/battens must be isolated from the walls by at least 25mm.
2. Levelling is carried out by adjusting the 'O' support ring up and down the threads, as required. Lock by turning the carrier upstands against the battens.
3. When planning the floor layout leave a 10-15mm expansion gap around all perimeters, fix the flooring to the battens using a generous amount of Hush Bond Panel Adhesive and secure with ring nails or screws. At the same time the flooring boards should be glued at all T&G joints board to board.
4. Press Hush Seal 20 Perimeter Seal into the perimeter expansion gap ensuring that the floor floats freely of the walls to maintain acoustic isolation. Alternatively, use perimeter detail as per Robust Detail instructions using Hush RD Flanking Strip.
