An aluminium alloy range of low rise screens suitable for all types of buildings where entrances and doors of a commercial nature are specified.
For use on commercial and retail buildings, schools and public buildings where low cost and high thermal performance is required. The system can be used in conjunction with the commercial entrance doors and window inserts as required.
Kestrel Aluminium Systems Thermal Framing is designed to industry standards in the absence of a British Standard code. The system is based on a common box section size of 100 x 55 mm for double glazed options, with a three and four screw port feature for inherent strength. Construction consists of main vertical members with horizontal transoms spanning between. Framing profiles are square cut and assembled by driving screws into extruded receptacles in the corresponding section. All loads are transmitted to a supporting structure via purpose-designed fixings and fixing details. The framing is not self-supporting.
Infills of glass are glazed by shuffle glazing the infill into jamb glazing pockets. Cill and head beads snap-in internally or externally depending on the application to give a flush appearance.
Pivot, hinged and sliding doors can be constructed from the non-thermal door section range. Our window systems can also be used with the framing.
Consult the Kestrel Aluminium Systems Limited product manual for detailed installation instructions and contact our technical department for details of the maximum spans and loadings applicable to the site conditions.

The system will also accommodate solid infill panels to customers own specification and supply. The thermal performance of the IGU or panel (Ug) should be matched along with the performance of the frame work (Uf) to achieve an overall U-value as required. Glazing to be carried out in accordance with BS 6262 and BS 6206 with particular attention being taken to risk areas, which would require safety glass. |
