Application

For use on internal and external vertical masonry and concrete walls.

Description

Grey one-coat weather resistant render and basecoat for Parex decorative renders for use on internal and external vertical masonry and concrete walls.


Features and benefits:

Suitable for:

  • Masonry conforming to BS 5628-3 composed of concrete blocks, clay bricks or lightweight clinker blocks.
  • Shuttered concrete walls.
  • Low density cellular lightweight AAC concrete block.
  • Concrete block, bricks, clay blocks, stone.
  • Dry-stacked interlocking modular wall units, e.g. Durisol.
  • Existing substrates - subject to surface preparations.
  • Base coats conforming to EN 13914-1.
  • Below DPC applications and old substrates in accordance with BS 8000-4 Code of Practice for Waterproofing.


Unsuitable for:

  • Weak mortar or plaster (gypsum) coated constructions.
  • Exposed horizontal substrates with a vertical incline above 10°. A backward incline may affect water run-off and may have a tendency to hold moisture.
  • Painted substrates.

Thicknesses

Guidance for specification option:

  • For weatherproofing applications onto bare substrates minimum total thickness must be 15 mm.
  • For Key Coat - spray or hand apply 2–3 mm coating leaving a texture/ stipple finish.
  • For Base Coat for Monocouche - 6–8 mm levelled with notched trowel finish.
  • For a paint - Apply two coats of 7–8 mm each the final coat levelled and flattened to receive paint.
