Application

Residential windows

Description

Insulating glass unit (IGU) using Pilkington K Glass™ on surface four of the unit and Pilkington Optitherm™ S1 Plus on surface two, achieving an extremely low Ug-value of 0.9 W/m²K. It is equivalent to triple glazing performance but in a double glazed unit.

Features and benefits:

  • Adding an on-line low-e coating to surface four of an IGU, reflects additional infrared heat back into the house, reducing the amount of radiant heat loss through the glass.
  • By applying low-e coatings on two surfaces of an IGU, the centre pane Ug-value can be significantly reduced and thus reduce the amount of heat that is lost.
