Application

BITUSEAL should be applied to the prepared surface, using a suitable brush, roller or airless sprayer in a minimum of 2 coats. The first coat should be applied at a rate of approximately, 0.2 litres per M2. Once the first coat is dry the second coat should be applied at right angles to the first application to ensure maximum coverage. If required then a layer of glass fibre mesh maybe embedded into the first coat, whilst still wet to provide extra reinforcement. If the BITUSEAL is to be applied to a concrete substrate which is to be subsequently overlaid with a cementitious screed, then the topcoat of BITUSEAL should be blinded with quartz aggregate to provide an adequate bond between the cured BITUSEAL and the subsequent screed.

Description

  • BITUSEAL is a bitumen emulsion. It is a solvent dispersion which exhibits excellent adhesive properties and retains its elasticity once cured. For large civil projects, it meets the requirements of a highways / civil engineering grade cutback bitumen.
