Protan UK Green Roof System - Prefabricated G Membrane - Inverted Roof Construction

Protan has three green roof systems that can be applied to inverted roofs. They are consistent, colourful and aesthetic.

The Green Extensive Roof System

• Supports low growing, lightweight and low maintenance planting schemes.
• The system will provide a consistent, colourful and aesthetic finish that is largely self-supporting and able to withstand harsh weather conditions such as drought and frost.

The Green Biodiverse Roof System

• Designed to create a natural habitat for local plants and insects and meet the environmental objectives of local, regional and national authorities.
• Biodiverse roofs can recreate natural habitats lost through developments on brownfield sites.

The Green Intensive Roof System

• Supports diverse planting schemes including trees, lawns, coppices and paved areas.
• It is possible to create a roof garden, including recreation areas and amenity space.
• Intensive roofs require higher levels of maintenance compared to other systems.

Properties of Protan Prefabricated G Membrane:

• Thickness: 1.8 mm.
• Roll length: 15 m.
• Roll width: 2 m.
• Weight: 1.9 kg/m².
• Weight of glass fibre core: 50 g/m².

Fire resistance:

When tested, a loose laid and ballasted specification including a minimum depth of 50 mm aggregate or paving should be deemed to satisfy BS 476-3.

Substrate:

• Concrete roof decking.
• Plywood WBP to BS 5266-2 and BS EN 636-3:1997, minimum thickness 18 mm
• Roofing Grade OSB Board to BS EN 300:1997 Grade 3, minimum thickness 18 mm.
