Application

Can be used for both roof and wall applications. It is suitable for new-build construction, re-cladding and over-roofing.

Description

Garland R-MER LOC standing seam systems combine watertight integrity, aesthetic versatility and intelligent sustainability to meet the widest possible range of functional and aesthetic requirements. R-MER LOC is available in a standard width of 500 mm; other widths of 333 mm, 400 mm and 600 mm are available on request.

Features and benefits:

  • 30 year single-point guarantee.
  • Engineered from steel, zinc, aluminium or copper.
  • Wide range of RAL colours and finishes.
  • Innovative zip-free seam.
  • Rapid installation.

Innovative fixing systems:

The innovative fixing system principles are based on improvements to the way the roof cladding is fixed and installed. The fixing method has been developed in such a way that no problems arise through wind load or thermal expansion as a consequence of temperature fluctuations and ensures long-term functional security. Despite wide clip distances the roof is still walkable and self-supporting (0.9 mm gauge sheet only). The system allows for quick and simple installation without time consuming mechanical zipping.

Breather membrane and rigid insulation board:

With R-MER LOC metal roofing systems it is optional whether to install a protective breather membrane and also a compressed mineral thermal insulation. If a warm roof system is required, various thermal insulation options are possible including mineral wool and rigid PIR insulation. Consult literature for further details.

Tapered, curved or tapered curved profiled sheets:

Also available are tapered, curved or tapered curved sheets. Tapered profiled sheets with a minimum width of 230 mm and a maximum standard width of 500 mm are possible. The minimum roof pitch requirement for curved roofs is lowered (locally limited) if the roof elements are arranged in such a way that they run continuously through or are welded at the ridge side.

Roof pitch:

Minimum roof pitch of 1.5° (2.6%) for roofs without transverse joints. The minimum roof pitch increases for roofs with transverse joints/ penetrations (e.g. roof lights) to 2.9° (5%), except when completely sealed welded (to the upper roof shell of the profiled sheets) soakers are used.
