Siderise EW Systems Cavity Barriers and Fire Stops have been developed to provide a tested method of sealing external wall cavities for fire and smoke in masonry constructions.
Siderise EW Systems have been developed to provide a tested method of sealing external wall cavities for fire and smoke in external masonry constructions.
The EW product range is for use as a Cavity Barrier or Firestop in accordance with the guidance supporting the national Building Regulations.
Friction fit is available (see Tables 2 & 3 of the manufacturer's technical datasheet for applicable voids) to support easy installation with ‘green’ brickwork, which brings considerable advantages to the construction timeline.
Please note that some void ranges are only available with a compression fit and may be unsuitable for green brickwork. Care should be taken when installing under compression to ensure mortar has cured adequately to prevent deformation of the masonry outer leaf.
In addition to providing an effective seal against the passage of smoke and fire, the products are also acoustically absorptive.
These products represent an ideal combination of fully qualified performance and practical installation.
3rd party product approval is provided by IFC Certification (IFCC 1830).
Siderise EW Systems Cavity Barriers and Fire Stops comprise a low resin content stone wool insulation core pre-compressed internally to form a resilient strip. The material is faced on two sides with reinforced aluminium foil which is an effective smoke barrier. Available in the following forms:
Pre-cut Strips
Sheets
Siderise EW Systems Cavity Barriers and Fire Stops should be installed in accordance with PD6697:2019 - 'Recommendations for the design of masonry structures to BS EN 1996-1-1 and BS EN 1996-2'.
