Application

Structural insulated panels (SIPs) that can be used for all internal and external walls and roofs in domestic, industrial and commercial construction, including:

  • Residential: Self-build and multiplot developments.
  • Hotels and holiday resorts.
  • Commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Private education facilities and extensions.
  • Garden rooms and home extensions.

Description

Structural insulated panels (SIPs) by Hemsec, for thermally efficient constructions. The panels consist of internal and external skins of oriented strand board, Type 3 (OSB/3) to BS EN 300: 2006, with an insulation core of closed cell polyurethane (PUR).

Features and benefits:

  • BBA-certified.
  • Supports faster build times.
  • Can be used internally and externally.
  • Maximizes internal build space.
  • Good thermal U-values.
  • Industry leading airtightness.
  • A range of board configurations and sizes are available.

Consult manufacturer's literature for design load values dependent on the panel span.

Consult BBA certificate for detailed testing information.

Manufacturer guidance

Warranties for SIPs construction are available from companies that offer warranty schemes and the majority of lenders are able to offer mortgages on SIPs houses.

Hemsec SIPs are BBA/ NHBC approved and are eligible for Premier Guarantee. Provided the installation remains weathertight and dampproof, a life of at least 60 years may be expected.
