  • residential premises
  • schools, colleges and university buildings

Description

The SkyLine Box Patent Glazing system has an appearance very similar to curtain walling roofing systems but presents a very economical alternative.  Low-profile aluminium capping ensures a smart appearance to the external roof plane.

The SkyLine Box Patent Glazing system is used mostly for high spec contracts for single, double and triple glazed roof glazing systems and where visual appearance is of the highest importance. The strength of the glazing bar is provided by an internal box section, whilst the glazing bar is weathered by a screw on pressure cap (PC1) and a choice of plain (PC2) or ornate (PC3) cosmetic outer snap-on cappings to conceal fixing screws.

The system is available with a thermal break which delivers a solution compliant with Building Regulations Document L but it is also frequently used successfully for single glazed applications such as feature canopies and unheated spaces.

SkyLine Box is available in four sizes depending on the required span: box section depths of 50mm, 75mm, 100mm and 150mm. The system is capable of spanning up to 7 metres unsupported with double glazed infills weighing 30kg/m².

Features and benefits:

  • Provides an alternative to traditional internal and external stalked glazing bars.
  • Offers an economical roof glazing solution.
  • Gives the external facade a smart appearance, similar to that of curtain walling.
  • The internal box section provides inner strength.
  • Can accommodate single, double and triple glazing of any thickness.
  • Available with a choice of two cosmetic outer snap-on cappings which conceal all fixing screws.
  • Can be combined with opening vents to offer a complete glazing solution.
  • Can span up to 7 m when unsupported (while holding double glazed infills of 30 kg/m²).
  • Manufactured in accordance with BS 5516: 2004 Code of Practice for the design and installation of vertical and sloping patent glazing.
