The screw with universal applications and high corrosion protection.
Features and benefits:
- T STAR plus bit recess.
- No pre-drilling required (depending on wood).
- 4CUT point (applies to sizes of 3.5 mm and above) ensures safe fastening with low effort, reduces splitting of the wood and reduces the screwing-in torque required.
- Quick and safe fastening.
- Mills into the wood - stops on metal.
- Countersinks easily.
- Fix close to an edge.
The typical SPAX T-STAR plus drive is a so-called hexalobular internal. This shape increases the contact surface of our T-STAR plus and ensures optimal positioning for the T-STAR plus bits in the screw head. By enabling maximum force transmission from the screwdriver to the screw, T-STAR plus guarantees simple and ultra-fast work with much more efficiency than with other drives.
- The flat countersunk head has a polygonal underside ("pockets") that mills its way into the wood and can therefore be countersunk without having to pre-drill the screw hole. The flat countersunk head sits flush with the surface.
- The screws with partial thread are suitable for fastening thin components like engineered wood boards, panels and floorboards to thicker components like squared timbers or beams. The short thread penetrates the thick component, whilst the thread-free shank remains in the attachment. This creates maximum contact pressure between the two. The thread-free part should be at least the same thickness as the attachment.
- The full thread on most of the full-thread screws covers the entire – or most of – the screw length from tip to head. The more thread turn a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be absorbed by these screws. What this means for you: Wood connections with full-thread screws offer maximum reliability when it comes to resilience, and there's no need to use any ugly zinc-plated fittings.
- The term 4CUT stands for the arrow-shaped design of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres upon insertion and create space for the core diameter of the screw. The expansion at the core of the wood is reduced, preventing wood splitting around the edges. The required cordless screwdriver torque is also reduced, since the screw core no longer needs to ""squeeze"" into the wood.
- With WIROX, SPAX has developed a coating that is far superior to galvanization when it comes to corrosion protection. No chromium(VI) is used for WIROX, which means that even after years in an area not directly exposed to the elements, the screws are not only just as resilient, but are entirely environmentally friendly, too. WIROX screws are the ideal choice for all open structures without direct exposure to the elements, such as carports and pergolas. For areas with direct weather exposure, such as decking, we recommend our stainless-steel screws.
