Brise soleil system with architectural aerofoil blades.
Provides solar shading to glazed buildings
Brise soleil system provides effective solar shading as well as visual impact on a range of glazed buildings. Based on horizontal aerofoil blades, the system incorporates strong structural design and concealed fixings to provide seamless lines across long spans. Brise soleil blades (between 100 mm and 1,200 mm wide) are available in aluminium or timber and can be provided in modular cassette form for efficient off-site construction.
System Construction Solo blade:
a) Maple aluminium elliptical blades ranging from 300-700mm, projection and run length dependent of project location and wind loadings. System comprising of 6063 T6 extruded aluminium elliptical blades with bespoke aluminium end plates fixed between Maple’s ‘Type 1 Arm’ or ‘Type 3 Arm’ which are fixed directly to suitable fixing grounds or via purpose designed bracketry. Blades are to be set at the required pitch which protects against 62° solar angle.
b) Western Red Cedar elliptical blades ranging from 300-400mm, projection and run length dependent of project location and wind loadings. System comprising of Western Red Cedar elliptical blades with bespoke aluminium end plates fixed between Maple’s ‘Type 1 Arm’ or ‘Type 3 Arm’ which are fixed directly to suitable fixing grounds or via purpose designed bracketry. Blades are to be set at the required pitch which protects against 62° solar angle.
Panel Construction Cassette:
a) Maple aluminium elliptical blades ranging from 180-250mm, projection and run length dependent of project location and wind loadings. Panels comprising of 6063 T6 extruded aluminium elliptical blades fixed between 6mm aluminium side arms to form a cassette panel, fixed to purpose design bracketry. Blades are to be set at the required pitch which protects against 62° solar angle.
b) Western Red Cedar elliptical blades ranging from 150-250mm, projection and run length dependent of project location and wind loadings. Panels comprising of Western Red Cedar elliptical blades fixed between 6mm aluminium side arms to form a cassette panel, fixed to purpose design bracketry. Blades are to be set at the required pitch which protects against 62° solar angle.
Bracket Construction:
a) Laser cut and folded brackets, designed and engineered to suit the project location, wind loadings and tolerances, manufactured from s275 (or superior) mild steel, and fixed direct to suitable fixings grounds.
b) Laser cut brackets, designed and engineered to suit the project location, wind loadings and tolerances, manufactured from 5000 series (or superior) aluminium, and fixed into curtain walling mullions. Brackets and spring pins will be free issued for installation by the curtain walling subcontractor.
c) Laser cut thermally broken brackets, designed and engineered to suit the project location, wind loadings and tolerances, manufactured from 5000 series (or superior) aluminium, and fixed into curtain walling mullions. Brackets and thermal break components will be free issued for installation by the curtain walling subcontractor.
Blade Colour/ Finish:
Specific to each project – polyester powder-coated 60µm or anodized 25µm.
Bracket Colour/ Finish:
Specific to each project – hot dip galvanized or polyester powder-coated 60µm.
