Tactile paving flags are used to assist the blind and partially sighted people at controlled and uncontrolled pedestrian crossings such as zebra/ pelican/ puffin crossings/ toucan crossings, traffic signals with pedestrian phases, crossovers, crossings away from junctions, kerb-to-kerb humps and traffic signals without a pedestrian phase.
The flags are available in three colour finishes to enable the partially blind to distinguish between different types of crossing zones:
