Description

A PMMA based, crack-bridging and joint-bridging waterproofing system that is able to withstand mechanical stresses. The waterproofing system's liquid application and high bonding strength on almost any substrate also allow breakthroughs and upstands to be integrated securely and seamlessly. These properties make the system a cost-effective solution for car parks and balconies, especially for refurbishment projects.

Preparation

Wecryl 176 Primer.

Guidance for specification option:

  • Two-component, fast-reactive/ fast-curing PMMA-based (polymethyl methacrylate) resin primer.
  • Used for the pre-treatment (primer and barrier) of slightly absorbent mineral and timber substrates (concrete, screed, wood).
  • Available in white or clear (unpigmented).

Wecryl 112 Primer.

Guidance for specification option:

  • A pigmented or non-pigmented primer based on a two-component fast-reactive polymethyl methacrylate resin.
  • For the preparation of asphaltic and bituminous substrates.

Manufacturer recommends the following ancillary items:

  • Wecryl 333 Self-Levelling Mortar - For use in levelling rough substrates of less than 10 mm depth, levelling gradients, and as additional protection in trafficked areas such as roof terraces, communal walkways and balconies.
  • Wecryl 842 Mortar - For use in levelling rough substrates of greater than 10 mm depth and levelling of gradients.


Primer

Wecryl 176 resin primer.

Guidance for specification option:

  • A pigmented or non-pigmented primer based on a two-component, fast-reactive and fast-curing polymethyl methacrylate resin.
  • For the preparation of absorbent substrates such as concrete, screeds and timber.

Wecryl R 230.

Guidance for specification option:

  • A polymethyl methacrylate-based waterproofing resin.
  • Available in RAL 7032 pebble grey and RAL 7043 traffic grey. Other RAL colours are available on request.

Wecryl R 230 Thix.

Guidance for specification option:

  • Two-component, fast-reactive and highly flexible PMMA-based (polymethyl methacrylate) waterproofing resin.
  • Wecryl R 230 thix is a variant of Wecryl 230 with improved non-sag/ thixotropic properties to reduce run-off when the waterproofing resin is applied to sloping and vertical surfaces. It is used primarily for the waterproofing of details.
  • Available in RAL 7032 pebble grey and RAL 7043 traffic grey. Other RAL colours are available on request.

Wecryl R 230.

Guidance for specification option:

  • A low-temperature installation version of the standard resin, with a modified cure system.
  • For use to allow application between -15 to +25°C. 
  • Available in RAL 7032 pebble grey. Other RAL colours are available on request.

Integral accessories

Wekat Catalyst.

Guidance for specification option:

  • A polymethyl methacrylate-based catalyst, used with all three resin versions as a two-component system.
  • Must be mixed with the resin for two minutes in accordance with the certificate holder's instructions using a mixing tool with twin-paddle stirrer at slow-speed setting.
  • Supplied in a plastic bag or cardboard container.
