OVERVIEW
Shiluvit’ by Oranit
270m2 of Shuluvit panels in 7-501 format and American Red Oak were installed to the ceilings of various classrooms and lecture spaces at the Edward Boyle library at Leeds University. Shiluvit panels were chosen in part for their ability to easily incorporate lighting and ventilation into the ceiling whilst also giving ease of access with the tip-and-tilt demountable design. The ceilings were installed as part of the £15m redesign of the historic Grade II listed library building which began in 2015 and was finished for the start of the January term of 2017. The regeneration project was designed to improve the student experience of the space, an additional 1,000 study spaces were added as well as a dedicated post-graduate hub in addition to the lecture and seminar rooms.
We are also very pleased to share that the library regeneration project was the winner of a Leeds Architecture Award in the Conserved Building category. At LSA we believe in longevity of design and installation and are proud to offer all of our products with industry leading warranty periods and extended lifespans. We are happy to know that students at Leeds University will be able to enjoy our ceilings for many years to come.
