OVERVIEW
Work on refurbishing the Shelter Hall on the Brighton seafront originally began in October 2015 and took longer than anticipated to complete. One of the reasons was that it's an historic building (originally from the 19th century) with particular design issues that needed resolving.
A council spokesperson said that "With a showpiece building of this kind it's important that we take the time to make sure everything is right."
Preperatory works
After two years of work to demolish the original building, strengthen the historic Kings Road arches, support the upper promenade and prevent the seafront road from collapse, the new Shelter Hall is emerging from behind the hoardings.
Installation of Armourshield grilles for security
As part of the redevelopment HVP were asked to provide ten of their Armourshield style shutter that suited the redevelopment perfectly. The Armourshield shutter offers security with style. With its more classical look, the Armourshield allowed the Council and planners to keep the style of the building whilst still being able to secure it.
