OVERVIEW
Amber Valley Stone was commissioned to manufacture and supply bespoke red precast coloured concrete units for the Forest Road project in Walthamstow. This project, designed by Gort Scott, aimed to provide 90 affordable one-bedroom homes for local first-time buyers. The development is situated on a prominent site opposite Lloyd Park and the William Morris Gallery.
Our Contribution
Amber Valley Stone produced a range of precast concrete elements, including concaved structural heads, fascia panels, curved beams, columns, and copings. These units were acid-etched to meet the client’s specific aesthetic and structural requirements.
Key Features
Bespoke Red Precast Concrete: The unique red colour was achieved through careful selection of aggregates and pigments, ensuring a vibrant and consistent finish.
Acid Etching: This technique provided a textured surface that enhanced the visual appeal of the concrete elements.
Structural and Aesthetic Integration: The precast units were designed to seamlessly integrate with the building’s architecture, contributing both to its structural integrity and aesthetic value.
